Recording
Phone Calls is Very Easy with Audacity
Palm
OS - Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700P, or Treo 755P
Set
the Treo side button to launch Audacity. Then place a call. Press
and hold the side button for three seconds to begin recording your
call. It's that easy.
This works on the Audacity Personal as well as the Audacity Professional
application. Audacity Personal targets the general user wanting
an easy one-handed recorder for personal note taking. Audacity Professional
targets dictation usage, speech recognition, and applications that
integrate with external processes. You will not find another recorder
this easy to use.
The Audacity Professional also automatically captures Caller ID
information including incoming or outgoing telephone number, name,
and company. This information is then available for post processing.
Files may be recorded in a variety of audio formats from highly
compressed 6 kbps to very high quality PCM formats. The files are
color coded and marked as "Phone Call Recordings".
Pocket
PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 5 Smartphones (Many models)
You
can record phone calls using most Smartphones. You may use either
the Audacity Personal or Professional version. It is not required,
but in most cases it will be easiest to launch Audacity from the
side button. To Record, press the side button a second time.
You
can start recording either before or after the phone call is placed
or received. For proper volume you will also need to activate the
speakerphone feature. We recommend experimenting with it before
you actually want to use it.
